The Prodigal Son Returns . . .
MARVEL'S Resident Psycho returns!
We've all seen the movies, Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, all characters from the horror film genre. In real life we've had them too, Dahmer, Bundy, and Manson to name a few. We've all wondered what makes them tick, how they do what they do, and what makes them the way they are? We've also wondered, "What if these nuts had super powers?" Well MARVEL gave us that answer in a mini series called "MAXIMUM CARNAGE" that ran throughout the Spidey titles back in the early 90's.
The series was a 14 part story arc that introduced us to then unknown Cletus Kasady, A psychopathic serial killer locked up in New York's Ravencroft Asylum. The alien symbiote known as VENOM spawned a child after his capture by SPIDER-MAN and remnants of this were left at the Asylum. Kasady came in contact with the symbiote while still a prisoner which merged with his blood and gave him the ability to mimic VENOM'S suit. Breaking himself and a few other inmates out of the Asylum, Kasady ; now calling himself CARNAGE with the aid of CARRION, SHREIK, DEMOGOBLIN and DOPPLEGANGER(a six armed monstrous version of Spidey) to name a few, went on a city wide rampage.
It wasn't until SPIDER-MAN enlisted the help of VENOM, CAPTAIN AMERICA, CLOAK & DAGGER, and a few others to finally bring CARNAGE down. Well, recently released promo pics of a spoiler called "MINIMUM CARNAGE" coming in October 2012 leans towards a return of the madman known as CARNAGE.
More information will probably be released at this years San Diego Comic Con next week, but it looks like MARVEL is continuing its celebration of "50 Years of SPIDER-MAN" with a new mini maybe.
